Ever looked at ACA or are you turning 65?

I know this chart is a little busy but it's very important information. Please take the time to read and look over. I am here to answer any questions that you may have. Turning 65 isn’t just about getting Medicare — it’s about protecting your health and your savings. While Medicare serves as a great foundation, it doesn’t cover everything. There are deductibles, copays, prescription costs, and essential services like dental insurance, vision, and hearing that can lead to significant, unexpected expenses. 

 This checklist exists to ensure nothing important is missed. Each item helps control medical costs, protect retirement income, and reduce financial stress for you and your family. The goal isn’t to buy everything — the goal is to understand your options, including various Medicare Advantage Plans, close the gaps, and choose coverage that fits your health, lifestyle, and budget. 

If even one of these areas is overlooked, it can put unnecessary pressure on your savings later in retirement. Reviewing this now gives you confidence, clarity, and peace of mind going forward.

Don't forget a great partner for a Medicare Advantage plan is a Hospital Indemnity plan. To be a compliant ACA plan, all of the following benefits must be provided:

1. Ambulatory (Outpatient) Services
   Doctor visits, clinics, outpatient surgery, and treatment that does not require hospital admission. 
2. Emergency Services
   ER visits and emergency care without needing prior authorization. 
3. Hospitalization
   Inpatient hospital stays, surgeries, overnight care, and related services. 
4. Maternity & Newborn Care
   Prenatal visits, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn coverage. 
5. Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Services
   Counseling, psychotherapy, psychiatric care, and addiction treatment. 
6. Prescription Drugs
   Coverage for medications, including at least one drug in every major category. 
7. Rehabilitative & Habilitative Services and Devices
   Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and devices that help regain or develop skills. 
8. Laboratory Services
   Blood work, diagnostic testing, screenings, and lab evaluations. 
9. Preventive & Wellness Services and Chronic Disease Management
   Many preventive services are covered at $0 cost when using in-network providers, including: 
   • Annual wellness visits 
   • Vaccines 
   • Mammograms 
   • Colonoscopies 
   • Blood pressure and diabetes screenings

• Pediatric Services
  Includes care for children, dental coverage, and vision benefits for pediatric patients.
